The company is investing more than $40 million in the project, which is expected to create 100 new jobs in West Columbia, S.C. over the next five years.
Akebono Brake Corporation, a subsidiary of Tokyo, Japan-based Akebono Brake Industry Co., Ltd., provides the world' automotive industry with advanced braking and noise, vibration and harshness solutions. As a result of increased sales, the company has decided to increase the capacity of its existing Lexington County facility, expanding its casting foundry and adding a new bay to accommodate machining and assembly.
