Palmetto Yacht Management opening headquarters location in Clarendon County, SC

April 15, 2021

COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 15, 2021) – Just in time for the warmer weather season, a new company is setting sail to locate its headquarters operations in Clarendon County, South Carolina. Palmetto Yacht Management (PYM) is a leading provider of oversize transport, storage and maintenance of boats along the nation’s Eastern seaboard. As demand for the company’s services has grown since its founding in 2007, so has the company’s need for space and personnel to provide those services.

PYM is investing $3.755 Million for its new headquarters location at 20th Century Dr, Manning in Clarendon County which will serve as the main headquarters for our company which services a diverse customer base that spans the entire east coast. This location will be home to the corporate offices, training facilities, sales operations, and service headquarters for the business. Company founder and Owner Chris Hanna says the decision to expand the company’s presence into Clarendon County is a logical step in the business’ growth strategy. This facility will strategically relieve the space constraints which have limited growth over the past two years, and it will provide a state-of-the-art headquarters to meet the needs of clients and staff for many years to come.

This investment will be executed over the course of the next five years and brings 211 new job opportunities to the local area; eight of the jobs will be for corporate management positions and the remainder for transport- and maintenance-related openings. A South Carolina native, Hanna says Clarendon presented an opportunity to grow his business that other locations couldn’t compete with.

“We are very excited about our new facility here in Clarendon County. At a time where most Americans are ready to get back to work following the Covid-19 pandemic, we are happy to bring many new and exciting opportunities to the area.

Our industry has seen a consistent increase in demand over the past decade, especially throughout the pandemic, and it shows no signs of slowing down. This new facility will provide the infrastructure required to continually meet the demands of our clients as well as allow us to continue expanding our portfolio. The expansion of our presence in the vessel transportation industry will help facilitate new employment opportunities as well as continue to help the economic growth of the great state of South Carolina,” explains Hanna.

Clarendon County Council Chairman Dwight Stewart says the company is a welcome addition to the County’s expanding business ecosystem.

“Our proximity to major interstates and ease of air travel, make Clarendon a perfect destination to not only manufacture products but to operate and manage the corporate side of the operations. We thank Palmetto Yacht Management for choosing Clarendon County for its new Corporate Headquarters.”

Working to support of Clarendon County in the project’s development, the Central SC Alliance (CSCA) comments on the complimentary match that PYM makes for the county.

“We see wonderful opportunities to come with Palmetto Yacht Management’s announcement today. The natural beauty of Clarendon County’s outdoors, blended with its zealous workforce and business-friendly environment, makes the county an ideal headquarters location for a company like PYM. Congrats to the company and our friends in Clarendon. We look forward to seeing activities get underway,” says Central SC Alliance Chairman W. Keller Kissam.

The new Palmetto Yacht Management location is anticipated to be completed by May 2021. Individuals interested in applying for a career opportunity may visit the company’s website for job opening details.
