Kershaw County

In its more than 200 years, Kershaw County has been making history in the Central SC region, South Carolina, and the United States, and it’s not hard to understand why. The county boasts direct access to a major interstate (I-20), is a convenient half hour drive from Columbia, SC and 90 minute drive from Charlotte, NC, and has a workforce primed for employers. Businesses have not only expanded and relocated to Kershaw County, but have found long-term value in the county for continued growth: Haier America, established in 1999, was the first Chinese-based company to establish a location in the U.S. and has expanded numerous times; Target announced a new distribution center location in 2001, just one of 38 currently found in the nation, that has grown to 1.8 million square feet; and Hengst North America brought its headquarters to the county in 2005 and continues to use the location as its sole North American production location.
