Clarendon County Announces New Executive Director to Development Board

MANNING, SC Clarendon County Council and the Clarendon County Development Board are excited to announce Mr. George Kosinski as the new Executive Director for the County’s Development Board, beginning March 16, 2015, following an extensive search. Mr. Kosinski will be responsible for helping develop and implement economic development strategies, as well as facilitate industrial, business, and commercial investment in the County.

Mr. Kosinski’s history in economic development and business growth helped cement his hire. Prior to accepting his position with the Clarendon County Development Board, he served as Director of Existing Industry and Business Development for eight years with the Sumter Development Board where he aided in attracting $900 million in capital investment, 4,200 new jobs, and the retention of 850 jobs. His background also includes product negotiation and working with businesses to evaluate their business plan for increased growth.

Mr. Kosinski holds a degree in Business Administration and Logistics from Trident University International and looks forward to completing his SCCED designation in April 2015. He continues with active roles in numerous organizations including SCEDA, SEDC, the Industrial Association, the Advanced Manufacturing Committee, and the local Workforce Investment Board and Airport Commission.

Mr. Kosinski is married with two children. His wife is Nicole and children are Laini, age 8, and Nash, age 17 months. He looks forward to starting his career with Clarendon County.

The Clarendon County Development Board exists to help support the success of existing industry and also to help recruit new industry to the area in an effort to improve the overall quality of life for county residents.
